Casbah Lagos: Moroccan Food, a Pool and a Trampoline. The Perfect Family Afternoon
Imagine this: amazing Moroccan food, a pool for the kids, a trampoline, a grassy garden area, and, the holy grail for any parent in the Algarve, actual shade (in the afternoon). If you've spent any time in the Algarve with small children during summer, you know how rare and precious shade is. 😅
Casbah in Lagos is one of those places that ticks every single box for a family afternoon. The owners opened it in 2025 and have created something really special. It's not just a restaurant. It's more like a family oasis where you can spend an entire afternoon without anyone getting bored, overheated, or hangry.
🍽️ The Food
The food is Moroccan and genuinely delicious. We're talking fragrant tagines, fluffy couscous, and flavourful mains that feel like a little holiday within your holiday. It's different from the typical Portuguese or international menus you find everywhere else in Lagos, and that's exactly why we love it.
The flavours are rich and aromatic without being too spicy for kids. Our one year old happily shared our dish and loved it.
For kids who prefer familiar territory: fries and ice cream are available (the universal toddler menu 🍟🍦). And there are highchairs, so even little ones are sorted.
🏊 The Pool
This is what makes Casbah extra special and different from other restaurants in the area. You can actually spend the day by the pool:
Prices as by 2025
Full day: €10 adults / €7.50 kids (2 to 11 years) Half day: €7.50 adults / €5 kids
Check the current opening times in Google Maps.
The pool is clean, well maintained, and perfectly sized for families. It's not a resort pool, it's more intimate and relaxed. And the hotel guests from next door are also using it. But the two times we have been there, it was not too crowded. And there is also a very warm baby pool as well. On top: you‘ll find a trampoline (with a little too much bird poo when we visited - have a good hand wash afterwards) next to it plus a grassy garden area where kids can run around between swims.
☀️ The Shade Situation (This Is Important)
A huge plus for parents with babies and toddlers: when we visited at 5pm, there was so much natural shade across the seating and garden area. We're pretty sure that by 3 or 4pm you'd already have plenty of shaded spots. This makes Casbah perfect for babies and toddlers who should not be directly in the Algarve sun (which, let's be honest, is pretty intense from June to September).
You won't need to bring your own shade or worry about finding a spot under a tree. It's genuinely well covered.
✨ How We Use Casbah
We see ourselves spending many summer afternoons here. Our typical Casbah day: arrive around 2 or 3pm when the shade kicks in, let the kids splash in the pool, watch the kids bounce on the trampoline, then enjoy an early dinner. It's the perfect afternoon to evening transition, and you don't have to move anywhere.
Combine it with a morning at Porto de Mós or Meia Praia beach, then head to Casbah for the afternoon. Beach in the morning, pool and Moroccan food in the afternoon. That's a full day sorted.
🅿️ Parking & Location
Casbah is a short drive from Lagos centre. Around the restaurant are places to park, it‘s in a residential area.
