Creative Ape runs an outdoor cinema in Lagos (and other towns) during the summer season. They set up a big screen in an outdoor location, and show a mix of family-friendly and grown-up movies in English. You sit on cozy chairs, headphones on your head and watch a film under the open sky.

The atmosphere is magical. There is no other word for it. It is the kind of evening that makes the kids say "this is the best day ever" and the parents silently agree.

👶🏻 With Kids

This is a genuinely family-friendly event. There is a playground nearby if it is at the marina in Lagos, and games on site for kids to play with before the movie starts. The vibe is relaxed and there are always other families around.

For very young kids (under 3), the late start time might be past bedtime. But for kids 4 and up, it is a special treat that they will remember. Bring cozy layers as it cools down in the evening. We just brought the carrier and the little one felt asleep at the beginning of the movie.

🍔 Food and Drinks

You can preorder burgers. Bring cash as they didn‘t take cards.

Blankets are available to rent so you do not need to bring your own, though packing an extra one for the kids never hurts.
