Marina Playground Lagos: Our Go-To for Easy Family Outings

Sometimes you do not need a big plan. You just need a playground, a coffee, and a harbour view. The Marina Playground in Lagos delivers exactly that, and it has become one of our go-to spots.

🛝 The Playground

The playground itself is quite basic. There is climbing equipment, a slide, and a baby swing which our littlest one loves. It is not a fancy destination playground with a hundred features. But that is not why we keep coming back.

We keep coming back because the location is perfect. The playground sits right at the Lagos marina, so a visit is always connect to a little stroll along the harbour. There is plenty of space to run around, and the kids can combine playground time with exploring the marina area.

☕ Nearby Cafés

Right next to the playground is Zany Garden Caffè, where you can grab a coffee while keeping an eye on the kids. They also rent fun little vehicles that kids can ride around the area. In winter, when the fountain area is dry, our kids absolutely loved riding the cat-cars inside the space.

🛍️ Arco Preloved Nearby

Just around the corner from the playground is Arco Preloved, a beautiful secondhand shop for kids' clothes. So you can combine playground time with a browse through curated preloved clothes, toys and books.

🅿️ Parking

Parking is a bit tricky at the marina. We usually find a spot on R. Dom João I. It might take a minute of circling but there is always something nearby.

✨ The Perfect Easy Outing

For us this spot is the perfect mix of playground time, little treats and a marina walk. It is the kind of simple, everyday outing that makes living in Lagos so lovely.

Combine it with dinner at Wok on Waves, Munich (close to the marina) or take the Vai Vem Ferry across to Meia Praia from nearby.
