Munich Lagos: Our Family’s Go-To Lunch And Dinner Spot by the Harbour
If there's one restaurant we keep coming back to in Lagos, it's Munich. When we go out for dinner, we choose Munich 9 times out of 10. Maybe it's because we're German, maybe it's because the kids love the play area, or maybe it's just that perfect combination of great opening times, harbour views, friendly waiters and food that arrives quickly when you have hungry little ones.
🍽️ The Food
The menu is a mix of German and international dishes. You'll find schnitzels, sausages and pretzels alongside burgers, pasta and fish. They have a great kids menu with big portions and small prices.
The food is in our eyes great, especially the meat dishes and ‚Flammkuchen‘. Family and Friends sometimes had dishes they didn’t like so much. But we can recommend the Schnitzel, Cheese ‚Spätzle’, the ‚Roulade’, the Tuna Steak. Important tip: ask to make your own salad dressing.
👶🏻 Why It Works So Well for Families
First of all, Munich is always open! They are open 365 a year and don’t close for a break. The waiters at Munich are genuinely child-friendly. Not just tolerating kids, but actually engaging with them, bringing colouring sheets, being patient and they also have highchairs of course. The kids can explore the grassy area with a climbing tree, some balls and a soccer goal. Or they walk to the water and have a look for the fish.
The restaurant sits right on the Lagos marina with a gorgeous view of the harbour. In the evening, the light over the water is beautiful and the kids can watch the boats while waiting for their food. Speaking of waiting, that's something you barely have to do here. The service is usually quick, which is a massive plus when you're dining with hungry children who've used up all their patience at the beach.
The outdoor terrace is the best spot, especially in the evening when the harbour lights come on.
🅿️ Parking & Location
Munich is located close to the Lagos marina. You can park along the promenade or you can also walk from the old town in about 15 minutes, which makes it a nice end to an evening stroll.
