Da Selva Açaí Lagos: The Best Açaí Bowls in the Algarve (and Probably All of Portugal)

I'll be honest. I've become slightly obsessed with this place. What started as a casual "let's try that açaí spot" has turned into a full blown addiction. So test on own risk! 😅

Da Selva Açaí & Bowls in Lagos is, without question, my absolute favourite spot for açaí in the Algarve. And once you've tried it, you'll understand why we keep going back.

🇧🇷 What Makes Da Selva So Special

The magic starts with the owner, Ana, who is from Brazil. She brings that authentic Brazilian açaí culture straight to Lagos, and you can taste the difference. The açaí itself is imported directly from Brazil. It doesn't get more real than this.

But what really sets Da Selva apart is the texture. I've tried açaí at many places across the Algarve, and nothing comes close. At Da Selva it's incredibly creamy, fresh, and just perfect. Not too sweet, not icy, not watery. Just thick, rich, and exactly how açaí should be.

🍓 The Toppings Situation

This is where it gets even better. At most açaí places, the toppings sit on top and that's it. At Da Selva, the toppings are layered throughout the entire bowl. In the middle, at the bottom, everywhere. Every spoonful is a full experience.

My personal recommendation: Granola, strawberries 🍓, peanut butter 🥜 and coconut flakes 🥥. Trust me on this one.

The bowl sizes are generous, and there are plenty of options to customise. Whether you like it fruity, nutty, chocolatey, or a combination of everything, you can build your perfect bowl.

👶🏻 Is It Good for Families?

Absolutely. Kids love açaí because, let's be honest, it's basically a socially acceptable way to eat a giant bowl of purple ‚ice cream‘. Our kids devour it every single time.

The shop itself is small but welcoming. You can eat inside or take it to go, which is what we often do. Grab your bowls and find a bench close by, head to the playground around the corner or take them to the beach.
